The actor also served as a consultant on the film The Last Jedi, helping the new Chewbacca actor, Jonas Suotamo, and was also a regular at conventions, always friendly to fans and taking pictures with the famously furry actor from the movies.
Peter Mayhew's height made the actor stand out among the members of the Star Wars series, but he was always remembered for his charisma and personality.
