Who says the cassette tape is dead? It's still alive and growing, according to a British Phonographic Industry report released in early January. According to the body, cassette tape sales increased by 94.7% over the past 12 months in the UK, with 156,542 units sold, representing the highest volume sold since 2003.

This is a reflection of the many big-name releases in the music industry that have taken place over the past two years, giving the format a new lease of life. This was the highest percentage achieved by cassette tapes in the last 17 years, according to the BPI.

The best-selling cassette tape in the UK in 2020 was Chromatica by Lady Gaga - 14,000 copies in this format. Among the representatives of classic rock, Ozzy Osbourne, with Ordinary Man, was the one who achieved the best result, reaching the 17th position in K7 sales.
