In Greek mythology, Aphrodite is considered the goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, fertility, and sexuality, and is described as vain and seductive. In Roman mythology, she is known as Venus, protector of fertility, beauty, and love.

Widely worshiped in the cities of Corinth, Sparta, and Athens, the goddess is considered one of the most popular among the gods of Ancient Greece, and is commonly depicted standing and naked, bathing, half-naked, or dressed in a tunic.

There are a few versions about her birth and one of the most popular says that Aphrodite would have emerged from the foam of the sea, when Kronos, god of time, cut off the genitals of her father, Uranus, god of the firmament, and threw them into the ocean.

She was married to Hephaestus, the god of iron and fire, but due to her nature, she had several lovers, gods and mortals, and also several children from these relationships, which ended up destroying her marriage.
