Tugboat Printshop is a company of internationally renowned artists located in Pittsburgh. Specializing in original, high-quality wood engravings, Tugboat Printshop, especially through Valerie Lueth (artist, engraver, co-founder and owner of the space), creates beautiful works of art on paper in a traditional, handmade manner. These works have been exhibited, presented and collected by patrons, cultural institutions and museums in the United States and abroad.
The prints are produced directly from hand-drawn and carved wooden blocks, using archival papers and top quality oil-based inks. The patterns of the prints evoke nature, presented in compositions that vary between black and white and vibrant colors.
