Meaning of Poseidon Tattoos

According to Greek mythology, Poseidon is the god of the seas and oceans, also known as Neptune in Roman mythology.

He is represented by a large, strong, and imposing man. Together with his brothers Zeus (god of the gods) and Hades (god of the dead or lower world), he is considered one of the most powerful and important gods in Greek mythology. All three are sons of Cronos (god of time) and Rhea (goddess of fertility), parents of the most important gods on Mount Olympus.

His image is linked to a muscular man with a long beard, always holding his trident, and accompanied by a giant sea horse or a dolphin.

He is a god worshiped by fishermen and travelers, who ask for protection and tranquility on the seas, with calm waters and no storms. Despite this, Poseidon was also known to have an unstable temper. When the god of the seas was angry, he would take his anger out on the waters, creating great sea storms, earthquakes, tsunamis, and various catastrophes using his trident.
