Horus is the god of the heavens and of the living, son of the gods Osiris and Isis. There is a legend that Isis, in the form of a bird, would have landed on the mummy of her deceased husband and thus Horus was conceived when his father was already dead.
He is represented with the body of a man and the head of a falcon. His eyes symbolized the sun and the moonbut in combat with Set, in revenge for the death of his father, he ended up losing one of them. After defeating Set, the eye was replaced by a serpent amulet (something the pharaohs started to wear on the front of their crowns), the famous "Eye of Horus", which was previously called the Eye of Ra.
O eye wounded in battle was the left eye, the eye of the moon, and for this reason it is believed that this is one explanation for the creation of the phases of the moon by the Egyptians. This eye ended up becoming a symbol of great power, which would also have the ability to ward off the evil eye, since the Egyptians considered the eyes to be mirrors of the soul. For this reason, it became a talisman that brings light, luck, prosperity, health, and strength.
