Holy Communion Tattoos

The Holy Supper is a Christian, religious celebration that took place on the night Jesus was betrayed, on the eve of his crucifixion.

In the celebration of the Lord's Supper, the body and blood of Christ, who gave himself up to cleanse his people from sin and bring peace, are represented. On the Jewish Passover day, when gathered with his disciples, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, then gave it to them, saying "This is my body, offered for you; do this in remembrance of me. Then he took the cup and said, "This is the cup of the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you.

After that, Jesus ordered this ritual to be performed by all who had faith in him, as a reminder of his morte at cross and deliverance for our sins, until He returns. The bread was shown by Jesus as representing His body, which was slaughtered on the cross, suffered and carried all the sins that we would not be able to carry. The wine symbolizes the new covenant made between mankind and God, reconciling the Father's relationship through the Son.

The most reproduced image of this moment is a painting on wall made by Leonardo da Vinci between 1494 and 1497, located in the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria Delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. The instant shown in the painting is the one when Jesus has just stated that "one of you will betray me," and the disciples will be asking, "Is it I, Lord?"
